2.2 Designated Spokespersons

The Governor and Deputy Governor are the Bank’s official

I)

Policy Issues:

spokespersons on policy issues. From time to time, Directors of various

departments may be designated to speak to policy issues by the Governor as

follows:

i)

Macro-economic issues - Director, Research

ii)

Monetary policy issues - Directors, Research/Statistics

iii)

Banking specific issues - Directors, BMOD/Bank Supervision

iv)

Currency specific issues - Director, Currency Management

v)

Money and capital market development issues - Director, FEDD

vi)

Public Education and awareness issues - Director, CRD

If designated to speak on a specific issue, the Director is not authorised to offer

personal views, opinions or speculation or to provide information on matters

falling outside his/her direct knowledge, involvement and responsibility.

II) Administrative Issues: The Governor, Deputy Governor and Senior Director are

the Bank’s official spokesperson on administrative and staff related issues.

Requesting Media Services

All visits to the Bank by the News Media should be coordinated by the CRD.

Departments requiring media services should request the CRD to make the necessary

arrangements. The CRD should issue the prescribed “Media Advisory”, to apprise the

relevant media, of the specific services required. Media advisories should be issued at

least one week prior to the activity, preferably at the start of the week, to enable inclusion

of the assignment in the media houses’ duty roster.
