INFORMATION DISSEMINATION TO THE MEDIA
3.1
INFORMATION DISCLOSURE
The Bank is committed to the principles of transparency and accountability in all of its
activities. Information provided to the media should be made available in a form that
enhances the transparency and therefore the quality of the Bank’s activities. The final
determination as to what information may be released to the public rests with the
Governor/ Deputy Governor.
3.2
RESTRICTIONS
Information that has been classified as confidential, sensitive or averse to the Bank must
under no circumstances be made available to the Media. This includes internal
performance matters; documentation pertaining to the Bank’s clients; personal
information; matters in legal dispute or under negotiation.
Staff members should not communicate with the media on any matter concerning the
affairs of the Bank, or make public, publish or make available to anyone outside the
Bank, for the purpose of publication, any document, paper or information which may
come into their possession in their official capacity, without the prior sanction of the
Governor/Deputy Governor.
3.3
INFORMATION DISSEMINATION PROCESS
All articles prepared for dissemination to the media should be reviewed by the relevant
department head and approved by the Senior Director, Corporate Relations Department,
prior to dissemination to the media by the CRD. In exceptional cases, articles may be submitted to the Governor 1 for approval, at the discretion of the Senior Director,
Corporate Relations.
