(B) Processing Claims for the Contents of Safe Deposit Boxes Held by the ECCB
Commercial banks periodically submit requests for the return of abandoned property on behalf of
their customers. Once a claim is received from a commercial bank, the Unit Head, Financial
Intelligence and Analysis Unit - BMOD sends a memo to the Agency Office to advise that
arrangements are to be made to receive and return items to the commercial bank on behalf of the
customer.
1. Upon receipt of the items from the ECCB Headquarters, the Resident Representative
must contact the Operations Manager or other designated representative of the
commercial bank and arrange the date and time for the collection of the items by the
commercial bank.
