ECCB PRIMARY SCHOOL MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME

The ECCB partners with other financial institutions and the Government ministries within the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union to provide support systems for the youth to help prepare them for life and work. Within the two key areas of (i) financial education and (ii) social skills development, the programme seeks to develop the students’ understanding of everyday financial and economic issues. It also focuses on other subject areas important to their overall development by means of interactive discussions and activities. Facilitators include ECCB staff and guest facilitators from partner institutions. The aim is to engage the students from Grade 4 to 6 of each mentorship school in the eight ECCB member countries on a weekly basis during the school year. At the end of the school year, a Grade 6 Transition Session is convened via videoconference to help prepare the students for the impact of secondary school.
