Studies or statistics that present a time-series of average years of schooling of the labour force (entire economically active employed and unemployed population) as a proxy for education attainment are not available for Caribbean nations. Psacharopoulos and Arriagada (1986b) estimated the average years of labour force schooling for twenty-five (25) Latin American and Caribbean Countries including Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and Guyana for different years. These are presented in Table 2, along with the corresponding estimate for St Vincent and the Grenadines.
