MONETARY SURVEY 1. Central government represents central and local government. 1.1 Domestic Credit to Central Government (net)

Central Bank and commercial banks’ total holdings of Treasury Bills and Debentures plus Central Bank and commercial banks’ loans and advances to central government plus Central Bank interest due on Securities minus Total central government deposits held with the Central Bank and commercial banks minus Sinking Fund Call Account and Government Operating Account held with the Central Bank 2. Other Public Sector represents national insurance (social security scheme) and non-financial public enterprises. 3. Private Sector represents households, private businesses, non-bank financial institutions, and subsidiaries and affiliates. 4. Money Supply (M1) = currency plus total private sector demand deposits plus EC cheques and drafts issued. 5. Currency = total currency liabilities of the Central Bank less commercial banks’ holdings of local currency cash.
