financial structure conducive to the balanced growth and development of its member states. Throughout the year, the Bank demonstrated its corporate responsibility via a variety of initiatives. These included: • sponsorship for two students to attend the Student Programme for Innovation in Science and Engineering (SPISE); • ECCU Best Corporate Citizen Award Among ECCU Commercial Banks; • OECS/ECCB Under 23 Netball Tournament; and • a new initative, the ECCUBright Sparks Programme.

In keeping with its commitment to assist with the development of the region’s youth, the ECCB solidified its collaboration with the OECS Commission through the sponsorship of two students for the Student Programme for Innovation in Science and Engineering (SPISE). Over the period under review, the ECCB awarded scholarships to Rol-J Williams of St Kitts and Nevis and Jason Phillip from Grenada to participate in the annual programme. The SPISE programme is offered to Caribbean high-school students, 16 to 17 years of age, who are gifted in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and are interested in studying and exploring careers in these disciplines. SPISE is an intensive four-week residential summer programme, and is synonymous to the well- known MITES programme at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Students who gain admission to SPISE are among the top scholars in the region. ECCB Provides Scholarships for Two Students to Attend SPISE
